Patent Search

Patent Search
We provide a comprehensive range of patent search services. We perform the following type of searches using patent and non-patent databases:

Patentability / Novelty Searches
A patent search used to determine if a newly-conceived invention is different enough from prior art to allow patenting. This could be also called Patentability Search.

Freedom To Operate/Right To Use Clearance Reports
A Freedom-to-Operate search locates patents with claims that could prevent a party from making or selling a certain product or practicing a certain process. Making, using, or selling a product or practicing a process often includes practicing the claims of others’ patents Invalidity Analysis

Non-Infringement & Infringement Analysis
An analysis concerning whether your patent infringes on other patents may be useful in some situations. For example, if another patentee notifies you of a patent they own and suggests that you are infringing that patent, you can determine whether you actually infringe on any claim of that patent. The infringement analysis may also be useful after you have obtained a patent if you believe that someone is infringing it. Non-infringement is one of the three primary defenses against patent infringement assertion along with prior art and lack of enablement. Infringement is predicated upon claim construction. Determining infringement necessitates mapping specific claim limitations, in light of supportable claim construction, to the features of the accused product. The doctrine of equivalents, where a claim is construed to provide equivalent embodiments, needs to be consulted and mapped according to the merits and legalities.

Prior-Art Searches
A State-of-the-Art Search is conducted to inform the client of important and pivotal movements in an art area and tends to focus on the ends of the technology tree where new growth will be likely to develop.
